Abstract

This study explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing user authentication methods, specifically focusing on biometric and behavioral analysis, to improve security in educational institutions. The current authentication systems in institutions like Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic, Lafia, face challenges such as weak password policies, phishing attacks, and insufficient multifactor authentication. The research aims to investigate the effectiveness of AI-driven biometric and behavioral analysis in user authentication, develop a framework for integrating AI into authentication methods, and evaluate the performance of these enhanced methods in real-world scenarios. By leveraging AI, the study seeks to enhance security, provide a seamless user experience, and ensure data protection and compliance with regulations. The expected outcomes include improved authentication accuracy, reduced risk of identity theft, and enhanced reputation for the institution. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods.
