Abstract
The Israeli-Hamas conflict is a protracted and complex issue marked by recurring violence and deep-seated political disputes, posing significant challenges to achieving lasting peace. This paper explored the prospects for peace by examining diplomatic initiatives and identifying the obstacles that hinder the implementation of resolutions. The research is qualitative. It employed secondary sources of data which were drawn from academic journals, books and expert analyses. The theoretical framework integrated Conflict Resolution Theory, International Relations Theory, and Peace Studies to analyze the conflict comprehensively. Key findings indicated the critical role of neutral third-party mediation, the significance of grassroots movements in peacebuilding, and the impact of geopolitical alliances on diplomatic efforts. Also, addressing humanitarian and socio-economic dimensions is essential for creating a conducive environment for peace. Cultural and educational initiatives are also vital in reshaping identities and fostering mutual understanding. Therefore, the study recommended enhancing third-party mediation efforts, supporting grassroots and civil society initiatives, addressing geopolitical dynamics through multilateral engagement, integrating humanitarian aid with long-term socio-economic development, and promoting cultural and educational exchanges. These recommendations aim to provide actionable strategies for advancing peace in one of the world's most enduring conflicts. By leveraging theoretical insights and empirical data, this research will contribute to a nuanced understanding of the Israeli-Hamas conflict and offer practical solutions for fostering sustainable peace.
