Since the introduction of Computer Based Test (CBT) in Nigeria in 2014/2015 session by JAMB, it has been facing a lot of challenges as a result of very low computer literacy and phobia for mouse by majority of the candidates. JAMB Board admitted that the exercise witnessed some teething challenges, as part of its effort to arrest the situation, JAMB resolved to adopt another system of the CBT with Nine Keys Features. This study therefore, seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of the new method in conducting the UTME exercise. The study will adopt the descriptive survey design using qualitative methods. The geographical scope of the study are the Local Government Areas in Kano Metropolis, which comprises of Kano Municipal, Tarauni, Fagge, Kumbotso, Dala, Gwale, Ungoggo and Nassarawa of Kano State, Nigeria. The study found out that the main challenge of the UTME, CBT exams is the low computer literacy among the students, hence suggests that teaching computer in secondary school should take practical approach and standard computer lab furnished with solar energy or any other means should be provided.
