Abstract

The production and utilisation of alkaline water can yield significant benefits in enhancing human health. There is a necessity to conduct further investigation into alternative indigenous food sources, plants, and their by-products for the purpose of alkaline water production. The purpose of this study was to look into the possibility of producing alkaline water from garri. Due to time constraints, we were unable to fully investigate all possible solutions. The only useful thing that came out of this study was that it showed that adding garri to water can raise pH levels; in fact, some of the sample that was tested had pH levels that went from 6.5 to 7.0.
