Abstract

Teacher and its effective ideas in transforming education system has being a great concern to every stakeholders in the education sector which demand for transformative teachers to realize the essential means of development. It is the belief that curriculum and education transformation begins with many responsibilities that are very germane in promoting effective growth and development of students academic, upgrading education system and facilitating the overall academic achievement and goals. Curriculum is broadly defined as the planned sequence of instruction of student experiences in terms of educators or schools instructional goals. This study examined curriculum and transformative teacher which leads to educational development. The research methodology used was descriptive survey. The population for this study is drawn from the Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo, who are currently in their year of service. A random sampling technique was adopted to choose 198 teachers for the study. A four point structured 16 items questionnaire which sought the teachers’ views on the curriculum development and its effective utilization for the development of education was used as instrument for data collection the instrument was validated by a curriculum expert and expert in measurement and evaluation. The reliability of the instrument was carried out using test- retest method and computed using Pearson product moment coefficient of 0.75. Data were analysed using mean and standard deviation. The results obtained revealed that teachers were unanimous in their opinions on the objectives that guided the study. It is on this finding that recommendations were made to guide further relevant works and practices.
