One of the prospective means for achieving this goal, and in a sustainable manner is through the conception and development of affordable housing. By relying on locally sourced, and environmentally sustainable building materials, community participation, affordable housing provision can reduce the menace of inhumane shelter while promoting social equity. The economic impact of affordable housing extends beyond the construction phase as these projects can generate investments, increase property values, and enhance local infrastructure at the pre, and post construction phases. This paper brings instances on how affordable housing projects can successfully drive sustainable economic growth in various communities.
