Abstract
This project focuses attention on the Impact of Motivation on Employee Productivity – A Case Study of Olam Nigeria Limited. As the title of the project implies, attempts were made to bring out those motivational factors that influence and energize workers to behave the way they do. The study has become imperative given the company’s drive to increase productivity and profit. The instruments used for data collection were questionnaires and personal interviews. The researcher reviewed various works on the subject matter. The difference peculiarities and drawbacks of these theories were brought out. The major findings of the study are: some employees may be happy, but remain unproductive, a motivation does not guarantee high level of performance, and an increased salary or improving work conditions does not create a state of employee satisfaction. Appropriate guidelines and suggestions were offered to improve staff motivation in the Company.
